If visible, it will rub or flake off with your finger, leaving a brown spot. Don’t worry, it’s not rust but a seasoned spot that is brown, indicative of the varnish stage of seasoning. As a matter of fact, this is the color of home seasoned iron until it has been used several times. The brown spot will turn black with use.
Emile Henry 1-Quart Sauce Pot, Rouge is best for youA new line in 2012 for a new trend: natural, refined cooking on the barbeque. Our new bbq ceramic has been designed to grill your meat in a healthier way and for cooking more delicate ingredients such as fish, seafood or vegetables. Extremely resistant to heat, our bbq ceramic can reach 500c/930f. It heats much as cast iron, but diffuses the heat more gently so the ingredients do not burn as quickly. Thanks to its solid surface, our bbq products do not let the fat drip on the hot embers, creating toxic fumes. The result is slow, healthy cooking without any additional fat, which preserves the nutritional qualities and vitamins in the food. Emile Henry bbq products are designed to be used directly on a gas or charcoal barbeque. Closing the lid of your barbeque when cooking with the pizza stone will result in a perfectly cooked pizza with crispy base. Our bbq ceramic is extremely resistant and can reach temperatures up to 500c/932f. For use all year round, our products made from bbq ceramic are also designed for use in the oven. All items in the bbq range can be put in the freezer at a temperature of -20c/-4f and are highly resistant to thermal shocks; you can therefore take your dish directly from the freezer to the hot oven. Our bbq ceramic is not designed for direct use on the heat, for example gas, electric or ceramic hobs or on induction. Thanks to the highly resistant glaze, our flame products allow you to cut and serve directly in the dish. We advise you to serve your flame dish directly on the table, as it will keep the heat for longer thanks to the refractory properties of our ceramic. Our flame products are designed to be cleaned in the dishwasher. In the case of any burnt on food, fill the dish with a mixture of white vinegar and hot water and bring to the boil before cleaning. Each Emile Henry product is made in France and includes a 10 year warranty.
